The Jeffrey Modell Foundation was established in memory of its namesake, who died of pneumonia at the age of 15 due to an underlying primary immunodeficiency disease (PID). The Foundation is dedicated to early and precise diagnosis, meaningful treatments, and ultimately cures for the ever-increasing number of known PIDs. The Foundation works for clinical and basic research to better understand and treat PIDs; serves as a national and international information and education resource regarding the diagnosis and treatment of genetic immunodeficiency; advocates on behalf of patients and families to ensure their access to comprehensive care; and promotes public awareness of PIDs.
