What is Plasmapheresis?

Automated Plasma Collection

Plasmapheresis is the method by which a machine collects your plasma. Your blood is taken and separated in a sterile system into plasma and blood cells. The plasma is collected while the blood cells are returned to your body.

Around 650ml of pure plasma is taken per donation. After medical and legal defaults, the frequency of the plasma donation is specified individually for each donor. A donor can generally donate up to 2 times per week, and the donation takes an average of 45 minutes. The time between plasma donations should be at least 2 days.
